When used in conjunction with our Rotary Fan Press, the high mixing energy required by emulsion polymer activation is achieved through our mixing chamber blade and orifice design.
Two Reactions. Maximum Activation
When preparing an emulsion polymer solution, two reactions, inversion and dissolution, must occur for maximum activation.
Inversion Phase
Polymer passes from a continuous oil phase to a continuous water phase (breaking the oil solvents and washing of the surfactants).
Dissolution Phase
Reaction is fast and complete.
Remember:
The effectiveness of polymer activation depends on the following rules:
- The emulsion must be added to water and not the reverse.
- High mixing/shear energy should be applied when the emulsion comes in contact with the water.
- The only ingredients required are fresh water and PrimeBlend Polymer.
